The Name
Àird from the Scotch Gaelic carries four meanings that form the foundation of everything we do: head, promontory, pinnacle, and direction.
These are not arbitrary words. They describe the relationship we seek with every client: helping organizations find the direction to reach the heights they desire and expect. We don't just build solutions. We build the organizations that can own them.

Mike, Our Founder
Mike is not a consultant who learned risk. He is a practitioner who built enterprise-grade risk infrastructure at scale. Over two decades at institutions including UnitedHealth Group, AIG, and US Bank, he oversaw economic capital modeling for hundreds of billions in assets, directed nine-figure cybersecurity investment strategies, and built the internal frameworks that regulators described as industry leading.
What separates Mike is what he does with that experience. A graduate in both Mathematics and Actuarial Science and Theological Studies and Transformational Leadership, he bridges the quantitative and the human, building risk cultures and not just risk models. He is at his best when creating something from scratch and seeing it deployed as a real solution. He is equally energized when teaching an organization to own what he has built.
That combination of technical depth, leadership insight, and a builder's instinct is rare in this field. It is the foundation of Àird Group.
